Özet
Deneyim ve motivasyonla ilgili birçok çalışma bulunmaktadır fakat Türkiye’de yalnız
seyahat eden kadınların deneyim ve motivasyonlarıyla ilgili çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın
temel amacı yalnız seyahat eden kadınların deneyim ve motivasyonlarını incelemektir. Çalışmada yarı
yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmış ve Diyarbakır’ı yalnız seyahat etmeye gelen 27 kadın
üzerinden veriler toplanmıştır. Elde edilen ham bilgiler, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak
işlenmiştir.
Ortaya çıkan bulgular; yalnız seyahat eden kadınların deneyim ve en temel motivasyon
kaynakları ile Diyarbakır özelindeki algılarına yöneliktir. Bu bağlamda, kadınların yalnız seyahat
etmelerindeki en temel motivasyon kaynağı; ¨yeni insanları tanıma isteği¨, ¨özgürleşme¨ ve bireysel
seyahatin çekiciliği olarak belirlenmiştir. Yalnız seyahat etmek, kadınlar için genel olarak olumlu
deneyimlere sahne olsa da olumsuz deneyim olarak bazı taciz ve benzeri vakalarla karşılaştıkları
görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, kadınlarda yalnız seyahat etmenin her şekilde devam ettirilmesine
yönelik güçlü bir motivasyon olduğu da tespit edilmiştir.
There are many studies on experience and motivation, but there aren’t any in studies about the experiences and motivations of women traveling alone in Turkey. The main purpose of this study is to research the experiences and motivations of women traveling alone. On the study, the semistructured interview tecnique is used and we collected the data from 27 women who came to traveling alone in Diyarbakır. The raw information obtained are processed by using content analysis method. The findings are for experiences and the most basic motivations of women traveling alone and the perception of Diyarbakır. In this context, the most important source of motivation for women to traveling alone is determined as ‘’the desire to meet new people, emancipation and the charm of individual tavel’’. Although traveling alone is generally scene for positive experience for women, there are also negative experiences such as harassment and similar cases women been expossed. However, it is also determined that there is a been motivation for women to continue travelling alone in any case.
