This is particularly problematic with the genus Equus. To more reliably determine the evolution and phylogeographic history of the endangered Asiatic wild ass, we studied the genetic diversity and inter-relationships of both extinct and extant populations over the last 100,000 years, including samples throughout its previous range from Western Europe to Southwest and East Asia. Using 229 bp of the mitochondrial hypervariable region, an approach which allowed the inclusion of information from extremely poorly preserved ancient samples, we classify all non-African wild asses into eleven clades that show a clear phylogeographic structure revealing their phylogenetic history. This study places the extinct European wild ass, E. hydruntinus, the phylogeny of which has been debated since the end of the 19th century, into its phylogenetic context within the Asiatic wild asses and reveals recent mitochondrial introgression between populations currently regarded as separate species. The phylogeographic organization of clades resulting from these efforts can be used not only to improve future taxonomic determination of a poorly characterized group of equids, but also to identify historic ranges, interbreeding events between various populations, and the impact of ancient climatic changes. In addition, appropriately placing extant relict populations into a broader phylogeographic and genetic context can better inform ongoing conservation strategies for this highly-endangered species.Öğe Küllüoba’da İlk Tunç Çağı'nda beslenme alışkanlıkları ve bölgesel karşılaştırması(Arkeoloji ve Sanat, 2019) Gündem, Can YumniÖğe Bir grup gümüş Tarsos sikkesinin nümismatik ve arkeometrik açıdan değerlendirilmesi(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2015-05-01) Aydın, Mahmut; Devecioğlu, ÜlküYurtdışına kaçak yollarla eser kaçırılması yıllardır engellenmeye çalışılan bir durumdur. Karşılaştırma sonucunda Tarsos gümüş sikkelerinin Roma darplarıyla benzer oranlarda gümüş içerdiği anlaşılmıştır.Öğe Protection of archaeological sites and monements through satellite maps(2010) Aydın, Mahmut; Devecioğlu, ÜlküÖğe Uluslararası mevzuatlar ışığında Türkiye’deki yüksek eğitim sisteminde koruma eğitimi: Genel değerlendirme ve öneriler - 1(İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi, 2011-12-01) Güner, Saadet; Öz, Ali Kazım; Aydın, MahmutFriends of Cultural Heritage- FOCUH (‘Kültürel Mirasın Dostları Derneği’- KUMID) in Istanbul as the Project Beneficiary and Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) in Izmir as the Project Partner carried out the Project entitled ‘EU Legislation on Cultural Heritage and Turkey’ within the framework of the ‘Civil Society Dialogue: Europe- Bridge of Knowledge Program’ between December 2006-07. In this Project, as of September 24, 2007, all EU legislations on ‘Culture’ and other international legislations published by UNESCO, COE, ICOMOS, ICOM, etc. on ‘Culture-Cultural Heritage-Conservation’ considered in ‘EU acquis communautaire’ were translated into Turkish from English (300 legislations and 2000 pages). They were published on the web site of the Project (http://www.kumid.eu/euproject/proje.html) and the Project Books within two volumes in 2007. Between 2008-09, each international legislation translated into Turkish during this Project and each article of them were analysed by the team of KUMID within the framework of various disciplines such as economy, trade, statistics, law, planning, engineering, architecture, archaeology, etc. and a draft report was prepared in 2009. This report includes three main themes: 1) Approaches and implementations of the decision makers and public instutions about the conservation of cultural heritage should be changed in parallel with contemporary and international standards as well as international engagements of the Republic of Turkey. 2) Approaches, implementations, education and training programs in each department of various disciplines related to the conservation of cultural heritage directly or indirectly in the Higher Education System of Turkey should be changed within the framework contemporary and international standards as well as international engagements of the Republic of Turkey. 3) In order to realize those themes; a) Effective public awareness on those subjects should be made. b) International and national legislations should be studied in compulsory subjects or optional courses in each department of various disciplines related to the conservation of cultural heritage directly or indirectly in the Higher Education System of Turkey. In this paper, those themes are expressed in detail. In the first part of the paper, information about ‘EU Legislation on Cultural Heritage and Turkey’ is given. In the second part, the brief history of the conservation of the cultural heritage is talked about. General analysis of the ‘International Legislation’ and ‘Education in International Legislation’ is made in the third part. In the last part of the Paper, ‘Conservation Education in the Higher Education System of Turkey’ within the Framework of the International Legislations is described in detail and some suggestions are made.Öğe Troas bölgesinin MÖ 3. bin yıl hayvancılık ekonomisini anlamak(İçdaş Yayınları, 2018-10) Gündem, Can YumniÖğe Diyarbakır Arkeoloji Müzesinden rozet betimli bir Urartu damga mühürü(Bilgin Kültür Sanat, 2019) Kaçmaz Levent, Esra; Demir, Timur; Dinç, Münteha Şahan; Ekici, Makbule; Tarhan, Çağrı MuratÖğe Arkeometrinin suç ve cezayı belirlemedeki rolü(Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı Kültür Varlıkları ve Müzeler Genel Müdürlüğü, 2014) Aydın, Mahmut
