    History of Mamluk rebellions model of the rebellions of Tagribermiş and Aynal el-Cekemî

    Memlûk Devletinin merkez ve bazı vilayetlerinde isyanlar meydana gelmiştir. Bu isyanların merkezlerinden birisi olan Suriye, bu başkaldırıların başlangıç noktası olmuş bazen de sultana karşı olan ayaklananlar için sığınak görevi görmüştür. Bu isyanlardan birisi Halep Nâibi Emir Tagribermiş ve diğeri de Dımaşk Nâibi Aynal el-Cekemî’nin isyanlarıydı. Her iki vali de Sultan Barsbay’ın oğlu Aziz Yusuf adına isyan etmiş ve Yusuf, Sultan Çakmak tarafından tahttan indirilmiştir. Gerçekte bunların amacı, tahtı ele geçirmekti. Dahası, bu amaç doğrultusunda bunlar birbirleriyle de ittifak yapmadı. Buna ek olarak, bu Suriye valileri ne diğer bölgelerdeki valileri ne de Anadolu Türkmenlerini taraflarına çekmeyi başarabilmiştir.

    Al-Makrizi’s Khitat and the markets in Cairo during the Mamluks era

    This study examines the markets in Cairo during the reign of the Mamlūks in the light of al-Makrīzī’s Chronicle al-Khitat. Besides those which were built during the Mamlūks era the commercial life were ongoing at the markets dating back to the Fatimids and the Ayyubids periods. The marketplaces generally occupied in al-Qasaba which was between Bāb al-Futūh in the north and Bāb al-Zuwayla in the south was the trading center of the city. Al-Qasaba is al-Mu’izz Street today which takes its name from the Fatimid Caliph al-Mu’izz li-Dinillah (341-364/953-975). The economic and social decline especially seen during the second half of the Mamlūks in the 15th century af-fected also the domestic markets stability and most of the sûqs disappeared depending on these conditions.

    Strategic role of nationalism in nation state building process comparative historical and instrumental analysis of Italy Germany and Turkey in the context of nationalism

    Nation Building Program of the Republic of Turkey has a Western character. The impact of the French Revolution has played a key role in this process. Trends such as Italy and acquired an important place in the political unity of Germany is now completed and the process of building the family of nations living system has led to exhibit very different political trends. These different political tendencies affected the political and military elite of the Republic of Turkey, a country that rose from its ashes. It is worth noting that some of the strategic instruments that have been used in the nation-building process in Italy and Germany were adopted by the Turkish authorities. The main objective of this study is to analyze the effects of Nazism and Fascism which emerged in Germant and Italy after the First World War had on Turkey during the single party rule. This study is divided into three main sections within the framework of this main objective. As a first step, rise of Fascism in Italy and prominent political practices are discussed. Second, political activities of Nazism in Germany are analyzed. The last part of the study, impact of Fascism and Nazism on the Republic of Turkey during the one-party period is examined
