    Sandwich composites are often used in areas like transportation where high mechanical and highenergy damping properties are desired in combination with low weight. Honeycomb composites are made by placing a light core material between two plates, and they are especially preferred in aerospace applications. In the study, honeycomb sandwich composites were produced by varying thickness of the face-sheet material, and the honeycomb cell size and thickness. Their mechanical properties were investigated using compression tests. Results showed that strength decreased with increasing of core thickness and core cell size. Considering the specific strength value of honeycomb sandwich composites as the main criterion in their usage areas, increase in cell size has led to higher specific strength reduction than core thickness causes
