Öğe Examination of web-based PVGIS and sunny design web photovoltaic system simulation programs and assessment of reliability of the results(Batman Üniversitesi, 2017-12-31) Haydaroğlu, Cem; Gümüş, BilalDue to the polluting effect of fossil fuels on environment and their exhaustible nature, investments in renewable energy resources continue to increase. In order to benefit from solar energy which is one of these energy resources, 50 GW of new power plants were installed only in 2015. Following the "regulation on unlicensed electricity generation" issued to benefit from the renewable energy potential available in Turkey, the installation of systems that generate electricity from solar energy via photovoltaic power is rapidly increasing. The use of simulation software is very important in the design and analysis of photovoltaic solar power plants. In this way, it is possible to obtain production data and conduct investment analyses before the power plant is established. Some of the simulation programs are web-based. In this study, web-based solar energy simulation programs PVGIS and Sunny Design Web were investigated and the proximity of simulation results to the actual results was studied. Dicle University Solar Power Plant was selected as the study field in order to compare the simulation results of the software. Dicle University Solar Power Plant is a photovoltaic solar power plant established and operated within the Engineering Faculty of Dicle University for introduction, education, production and analysis purposes. In the study, simulation of the 250 kWp solar power plant established in Dicle University was performed with PVGIS and Sunny Design Web software by using installation parameters and thus, one-year production values were obtained. The results of both web-based programs are compared with each other and with the actual production values from the plant.Öğe Tachogenerator DC motor speed control with PID and fuzzy logic(Batman Üniversitesi, 2017-12-31) Top, Ahmet; Çakmak, Ozan; Gökbulut, MuammerIn this study, closed loop speed control of a DC motor was performed using PID and fuzzy logic control methods. The speed information of the DC motor was taken from the tachogenerator and was transferred to Arduino Due microcontroller card with feedback. Experimental results showing the performance of the control systems were obtained by plotting in Matlab program of the data received via the serial port of the Arduino IDE program. These two control methods have been compared in terms of performance criteria such as rise time, sitting time and steady state error.Öğe Air pollution, pollutant emissions and harmfull effects(Batman Üniversitesi, 2017-12-31) Aydın, Hüseyin; İlkılıç, CumaliPresent paper is an overview of the engine and air pollution problem especially in the urban areas. Air pollution is caused bu pollutant emissions is popular problem that should be solved in the world by means of its harmfull effects. The combustion processes of diesel and gasoline fuels in realted engines and other hydrocarbon fuels in termical machines are main sources of air pollutant emissions. These main pollutants are nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulphur oxides (SOx), hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), particulates matter (PM), lead (Pb), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). All these emissions are firstly introduced and classified in the view of their sorces and formation processes. Later, Highleyman dataset was employed in tests in ML methods.Öğe Experimental investigation of strength of embedded strap lap joints under tensile loads(Batman Üniversitesi, 2017) İşcan, BahattinIn this study, stress behavior of double strap joints under tensile load experimentally investigated. For reinforcing the joint, the strap plates were embedded in the main adherend. Dewveld 530 was used as adhesive material and glass fiber reinforced epoxy adhesive as adherend for experiments. Experiments were carried out for different adherend thicknesses, embedded heights, and overlap lengths. Results showed that increasing the height of the embedded cover plate resulted in decreased stress values in the adhesive layer. The most effective parameter was overlap length to on the strength of specimens.
