temelinde, Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin 1882’de yazdığı Acâyib-i Âlem romanında ele
First relationships between Ottoman Empire and Russia starts with the commercial reasons in XV century at III. Ivan’s era. Ottoman Empire-Russia relationships starting to break down because of changing geopolitical and geostrategic reasons from XVII. century constantly proceed with the wars until Bolshevik revolution. These conflicts reach to a summit in XIX. century. They make a big war nearly every twenty years and indefinable pains are experienced. The encouragement of Russia for the rebellion of minorities living in Ottoman Empire is especially the main reason of the wars. These wars that occur in Crimea, Balkans and Caucasus region are significantly reflected to the literature, culture and art of these nations. The Russian culture and geography are firstly handled on the basis of tolerance and peace between nations in Turkish culture and literature history with Acâyib-i Âlem written by Ahmet Mithat Efendi in 1882. The novel which is written just after the war of 93 attracts attention with its leading identification about the construction of peace and merging of nations as much as it is bold in terms of its theme. In our study, Russian region will be examined in terms of Ottoman Empire-Russia relationships, human relationships, economic and demographic structure, historic and cultural trace etc. by that Turkish novel written in XIX century. Our study has the characteristics of an archeological investigation and the aim of our work is to determine Russian perception in XIX. century Turkish novel and to make an examination on the formation conditions of Russian image
