With its highly structured religious community structure, the province of Mardin has hosted many civilizations. Every power and state that dominates the city has left traces of themselves, their beliefs, architectural structures and cultures on these lands. Established on a slope overlooking the Mesopotamian Plain, the city is also in a transit location for trade. Thanks to the unique geographical structure and rock types of the Mardin region, the architectural structure was also shaped by stones. Each principality or state left structures with their own characteristics on this city. The artistic motifs and decorations in the architectural structures reflected on the stones also reveal the state that built them. In this state, the province of Mardin, like an open-air museum, exhibits unique artifacts from different civilizations, whose aesthetic values and historical backgrounds go back quite a bit. With its unique face, it preserves its original structure with the rare artifacts that have survived until today, although it is subject to deterioration. Mardin Province has been an important center in terms of educational activities from past to present. Educational activities were carried out in madrasahs under the rule of the old states, and today, religious education activities are still carried out thanks to the classical east-southeast madrasas. Although there are minor differences, the principles of teaching method in these madrasahs are the same. Again, it can be said that although there are some systemic additions and subtractions in the face of the changing world conditions, it still preserves its original structures. Our study was carried out in the hope of recording the data obtained about the place and nature of the Quran and recitation lessons in the scientific tradition that continues in the madrasahs and mosques of Mardin Province. In this study, in which the interview technique was used, the obtained data and audio recordings were analyzed and transcribed in an impartial, as-is and academic style.
