dc.description.abstractAvrupa Birliği ile ilişkileri 1973’de başlayan Birleşik Krallık, üyesi olduğu süre boyunca daima sorunlar yaşamıştır. Avrupa bütünleşmesine baştan beri en mesafeli olan Birleşik Krallık, Lizbon Antlaşmasındaki 50. Maddenin üyelikten ayrılmak isteyen herhangi bir ülke “kendi anayasal hakları çerçevesinde birlikten ayrılabilir” maddesi Birleşik Krallık için adeta istenilen bir madde olmuştur. Bu madde ile son zamanlarda yaşanılan krizler, göçmen sorunu, Avrupa şüpheciliği ve egemenlik kaygısı gibi nedenlerle birlikten ayrılmak istemiştir. 23 Haziran 2016’da yapılan referandumunda çıkma yanlısı tarafın ağır basması Brexit denilen sürecin başlamasına neden olmuştur. Birleşik Krallık’ın 2016 yıllındaki referandumu ile ilk defa bir üyenin birlikten ayrılması gerçekleşmiştir. 2017 yıllında müzakereler başlamış ve Birleşik Krallık 31 Ocak 2020’de birlikten resmen ayrılmıştır. Bu süreç içinde yaşanılanlar, Birleşik Krallık ve Avrupa Birliği için nelere yol açacağının muhtemel etkisi üstünde durulmuştur.
dc.description.abstractThe United Kingdom, whose relations with the European Union began in 1973, has always had problems during its membership. The United Kingdom, which has been the most distant form the European integration from the very beginning, has become a desired article for the United Kingdom, with the Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, that any country that wants to leave the membership “can leave the union within the framework of its own constitutional rights”. With this article, it wanted to leave the union for reasons such as the recent crises, the immigration problem, European skepticism and sovereignty concerns. İn the referendum held on June 23, 2016, the predominance of the pro-exit party led to the start of the processcalled Brexit. With the United Kingdom’s referendum in 2016, it was the first time that a member left the union. Negotiations started in 2017 and the UK officially left the union on 31 January 2020. What happened in this process, the possible impact of what it will cause for the United Kingdom and the European Union are emphasized.
