Özet
Türkiye’nin en önemli sorunlarından biri yoksulluktur. Kentsel ortamda daha da
görünür hale gelen yoksullukla mücadelede, farklı kurum ve kuruluşlar aktif rol almaktadır. Bu
çalışmada ülke genelinde faaliyetler yürüten Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakıflarının
yoksullukla mücadeledeki etkisi irdelenmektedir.
Petrol sanayisi ve güvenlik sorunlarının önemli etkenler olduğu Batman ilinin kentsel
gelişiminde, sanayi ve diğer sektörlerin kentleşmeyle paralel bir gelişme kaydetmemesi, yoksulluğun
büyümesini de beraberinde getirmiştir. Çalışmada yıllar içerisinde etkisini daha çok hissettiren
yoksulluğa karşı faaliyet gösteren Batman Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfının fonksiyonları
üzerine bir değerlendirme yapılmaktadır. Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfının kent
merkezindeki yardım faaliyetleri ile bu faaliyetlerin yürütülme sürecinde ne gibi kıstasların uygulandığı
ve bu süreçte ne gibi güçlüklerle karşılaşıldığına ilişkin bilgilere yer verilmektedir. Ayrıca Sosyal
Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfının yardımlarının yoksullukla mücadelede hangi sonuçlara ulaşıldığı
tahlil edilmektedir.
Poverty is one of the prominent sociological facts of Turkey. Several different institutions play important roles in the struggle against poverty which becomes more visible in urban settings. In this study, we try to evaluate the effect of the foundations of social assistance and solidarity in the struggle against poverty. Poverty has been an increasingly important problem for years in Batman which has emerged as an urban center after the process of industrialization but experienced a rapid urban growth independent of industrialization in later phases. We try to make an evaluation on the functions of the foundations of social assistance and solidarity. In this paper, we give some information about the activities of the foundations of social assistance and solidarity, their assessment criteria, and the problems they faced during the activities in Batman city center. Besides, we try to analyze which results have been come through in these activities. In conclusion, we can say that these foundations have a considerable role in the struggle against poverty in Batman.
