Codex’i de günümüze kalmış elyazmaları arasındadır. 136 folyodan oluşan Aureus Codex’inde konular, dört
İncil’den (Matta, Markos, Luka, Yuhanna) alınmıştır. Elyazmasında her biri üç bölüme ayrılmış on altı tam
sayfa minyatür dört İncil yazarının portresi dikkat çekmektedir. İsa, Meryem ve melek figürlerinde
hacimsellik göze çarpmaktadır. Resimli sayfalarda renk tonlamaları ve figürlerin sahne içerisine yerleştiriliş
biçimiyle kompozisyonlara derinlik katılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, el yazması eserlerdeki
minyatürlerin tarihsel gelişimi ve Aureus Codex’i hakkında bilgi verilerek Aureus Codex’inde bulunan
İsa’nın mucizelerini konu alan resimler incelenmiştir. İsa’nın mucizelerini konu alan resim sahneleri İncil’de
işlenen konular ışığında değerlendirilmiş, mucize temalarının gösterim biçimleri ve anlamsal boyutları
üzerinde durulmuştur.
Religious themes have established a considerable presence in Western art since the conversion to Christianity. As significant works of art in which religious themes find a field of application, book illustrations have been preserved in libraries, museums, and the like. Protect at Nuremberg National Museum and Codex Aureus, dating back to 1020-1030s, is one of the manuscripts having stayed to today. In Codex Aureus which has 136 folios, subject matters are taken from the four gospels of the Bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). In manuscript, sixteen full-page miniatures, each divided into three sections (in these pages, some of the stages of Jesus' life, the miracles of Jesus, and the Canonical Gospels were processed and fit more than one topic on a single page). In Jesus, Mary and angel figures, there is a tendency to volumeiness. In the picture pages, color tones and figures were put into the scene and tried to participate in the compositions deeply. This study gives information about the historical development of miniatures in manuscripts and Codex Aureus, and analyses the illustrations in Codex Aureus treating the miracles of Jesus Christ. The scenes in the illustrations treating Christ's miracles was evaluated in the light of Biblical narratives, and compositions are interpreted in terms of representation styles of miracle themes and their semantic extent.
