Suleyman Shadi is one of the 19th century representatives of divan literature. He was born in 1830 and died in 1900. Having received a good education, Shadi taught in junior high schools, held many government positions and served as chief clerk in various public offices. According to the information given by the sources, Suleyman Shadi was from Kars and was one of the caliphs of the Nakşibendî order. Suleyman Shadi has two mesnevi, one in Turkish and one in Persian, in addition to his divan (a book of his poems), according to the available data and the researches done so far. He instantly has many poems written in the tradition of Classical Turkish literature along with religious-mystical subjects. It is also possible to see Shadi’s poems with homeland themes. There are chants reflecting the spirit of the period in his poems. Among these are poems that emphasize the sense of heroism. There are poems that mirror the period that reveal the battles on the battlefields. His divan, a book of poems, was printed in Istanbul in Arabic letters. This copy was later printed by transferring it to Latin letters. A different and new manuscript of the poet's divan was determined by us. This work has 71 sheets and was written in talik calligraphy. The new manuscript divan copy of Suleyman Shadi is similar to the printed one as well as contains many differences. There are 12 new Turkish and 4 Persian poems in the manuscript that are not available in the printed version. However, some of the poems found in the printed copy are not included in the manuscript. Our study consists of the determination of Suleyman Shadi new Turkish poems that are not included in the printed version and their transfer to Latin letters.
