Camlarda renk veren elementler; Fe, Mn, Co, Cu’dur.
The ancient glasses revealed from the excavation campaignes between 2010-2014 in Olba ancient site were analised archaeometrically. The samples were primarily groupped visually with their forms, then, were photographically documented and catalogged. The production techniques of the glass samples were predicted in terms of their shape of pores in the structures by binocular microscope analysis. The production technique of the glasses might be the cylinder and casting/free blowing. The elemental and mineralogical structure of the glass samples were analised by the methods of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy Micro-XRF and Scanning Electron Microscopy coupled with X Ray Energy Dispersive SEM-EDS . Complementary analysis showed that the glass samples were typical soda/lime glasses. The high SiO2 content of the samples pointed out that not only the high mechanical strenght and durability, but also have high fluxing temperature. The low rate of K2O and/or MgO showed that the plant ash were not added to the glass samples. The different rates of Al2O3 content of the glass samples addressed the different source of the raw materials. The elements of Fe, Mn, Co, Cu were the colourants for the glasses.
