Özet
Türk heykel sanatında özellikle de geç dönem düşünüldüğünde; Türk heykeli ile mitoloji teriminin
yan yana geldiği örnekler oldukça nadirdir. Erken dönem olarak da nitelendirilen Cumhuriyet
dönemi öncesi heykel sanatımızda, ilk heykeltıraşlarımızın mitolojik tema ile bütünleşen eser
örnekleri ne kadar az ise, bu durum, sonrasında da devam etmiştir. Cumhuriyetle daha da gelişmeye
başlayan heykel sanatı, çeşitli konularda örnekler verirken, bunlar içerisinde ağırlıklı olarak anıtheykel anlayışı oldukça önem arz eder. Cumhuriyetten sonraki çalışmalarda nü temasına daha sık
rastlanıyor olması, sanatçılarımızın Avrupa’ya giderek buradaki üsluplardan etkilendiklerini
düşündürmektedir. 1950’li yıllarda ve sonrasında çalışan heykel sanatçılarımız incelendiğinde,
mitolojik temalı örneklere rastlamakta güçlük çekilse de, Türk sanatçılarının mitolojik temalı
örnekleri arasında; Kibele’den Şahmeran’a, Zümrüdüanka’dan diğer bazı hayvan motiflerine veya
simgesel ve düşsel unsurlara rastlanılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışan heykel sanatçılarımızın
başında ise Ali Teoman Germaner gelmekte olup, onu takiben Bihrat Mavitan ve Mehmet Aksoy
isimlerinden bahsedilebilir.
In Turkish sculpture, especially in the late period; It is quite rare that the examples of the Turkish sculpture and mythology coexist. In the Pre-Republican period of sculpture art, which is also described as early period, the examples of the works of our first sculptors integrated with the mythological theme were very few and this situation continued afterwards without any change. The sculpture art, which started to develop even further with the Republic, gave examples on various subjects and the monumental-sculpture was of great importance among these examples. The fact that the nude theme was more frequently encountered in the works after the foundation of Republic suggests that our artists were influenced by the styles as a result of their journeys to Europe. Even though it is difficult to come across with mythological themes when the artists of sculpture worked in the 1950s and later are analyzed, among the examples of mythological themes of Turkish artists; from Kibele to Sahmeran, from the Phoenix to some other animal motifs or symbolic and imaginary elements are encountered. Ali Teoman Germaner was the leading artist who who worked on this context and Bihrat Mavitan and Mehmet Aksoy can be mentioned immediately after.
